So, here they are. My thoughts, insane though they are, on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Things That Bothered Me:

1. Um, Sirius Black is rolling over in his non-existant grave that one of Harry's children is named after Snape, and he's got bupkiss. Rolling over, shrieking, probably scaring the shit out of whatever else is rotting behind that veil. Just saying.

2. Luna's dad? Anyone? Anyone? You really mean to tell me that Luna, who has painted slightly creepy, though touching, pictures of her friends in her room, who repeats and believes her father's crazy theories, who values interpersonal connections highly--you mean to tell me that she didn't, at some point, go "Hey, guys, the fuck is my daddy?" Because I would have done.

3. SCORPIUS?

4. Funny, I didn't know it was possible for a Metamorphagus to get pregnant from shagging a gay werewolf while in her dead cousin's male form. I was a bit surprised, really. But I guess you learn new things every day.

5. Speaking of Teddy--was he raised by Andromeda? Bill and Fleur? Mrs. Weasley? Wolves? I would rather know who he grew up with after his parents were murdered then, um, who he snogs, Jo.

6. Harry, accept the gay. Know it in your heart. Stop sending Draco furtive looks on the platform, it will only alert your wife to your secert homosexual relationship. You should never have married her to begin with.

7. ALBUS SEVERUS?

8. Maybe the goblins feel like wizards don't respect their ownership of stuff because even when they rightfully reclaim it, magical hats steal it and drop it on the heads of Gryffindor students. And then they never mention it again. Seriously, Griphook was kind of an arse, but show some respect, yo.

9. FRED. OH, FRED. YOU DESERVED A FUNERAL. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PERCY. I LOVED YOU. Also, the last we see of George is him kneeling over his brother's head, and I would have been much more interested in how he coped with Fred's death then in Harry's inability to allow Ginny any say in the naming of his children.

10. My Hermione/Luna with the really creepy ending is now shot to shit. Damn it.

11. In all seriousness--ending was a bit too "Weee! Happy!" following a book that so accurately portrayed the horrors of war. I was so proud of her and then she just played the sap card all over my pleasure. Grr.

Things I Loved:

1. Dobby, your nobility will not be forgotten. And Kreacher, I forgive you for basically killing Sirius, because you were nice to Regulus and probably helped them hide all the sex from their mother back in the day.

2. SNAPE/LILY IS CANON! Oh, I knew it! I did, I did, I did, I did. *Does a happy dance* That whole section read like a fanfic, though. I kept glancing back at the cover to make sure I was really reading the book.

3. I had to do that in a couple different places, actually.

3. Harry saves Draco's life! Twice! And then Ron punches him! And Crabbe dies! I love this not from a squee, fangirl standpoint, but from a yeah, that's about how that should have gone standpoint.

4. Ickle Mauraders. So cute.

5. As mentioned above, I really did subscribe in the wartime picture she created. Up until the end, it was a very believable book.

6. Fred. George. The ear jokes. THIS ONLY MAKES ME MISS YOU MORE, FRED.

7. Mrs. Weasley, you kick ass. That Bellatrix thing? Was fucking amazing. I love you too much to properly express.

8. Umbridge, you're a ho. But in a way I kind of secretly love. It makes me giggle.

9. Way to tell off Ron and Hermione for making out in a crisis, Harry. I approve.

10. Way to be a complete asshat to Harry, Ron, because he totally deserved even though Jo clearly didn't think so. He's had it coming since book five. Also, way to find a secret radio station with LEE JORDAN on it.

11. Lee Jordan!! I love Lee.

(Must go to grocery store, will probably add to this list later.)

Marry me.

Also, the last we see of George is him kneeling over his brother's head, and I would have been much more interested in how he coped with Fred's death then in Harry's inability to allow Ginny any say in the naming of his children.

WORD. Now all I'm doing is praying someone will write George hurt/comfort fic. D-:

Or maybe George/Lee Jordan HC fic....

Yes! *flails a little* I am hoping and praying that someone will write this!

So does that mean you might, in theory, support me in writing it?

Yes! *gathers carrots to feed your plot bunny*

(I am also willing to beta, should you want/need it.)

Hey so...I know you said this like, a year ago...but that George/Lee fic I was writing is getting closer to being finished. I play a long game.

Any chance your offer to beta still stands?

But of course! *excited* You can send it to secret.solitaire at hotmail.com whenever it's ready. Just curious, about how long do you think it will be?

I'm working on it now; it'll probably be done in a few days. Aaaand...er....right now it's like 4,000 words, but it's not nearly done. If that's too long, no worries--I can always put out a desperate request for another beta :)

My AIM is superfishy63; feel free to hit me up there!

Oh no, that's not too long. I just wanted to get an idea of whether it was one-shot length or, you know, in the 30k+ range. Either is fine, but obviously I can turn around shorter pieces much faster.

I don't really use AIM these days, so the best way to reach me is to comment here or email. :-)

Looking forward to reading your fic!

NO! Not the death of a Hermione/Luna!

Further, I have to read the book, now. Why does the Nomoney Fairy love me so?

It's not dead. I can't stop. Doomed, doomed, I am. It's the fic that never ends! Yes it goes on and on my friends, one day I started writing it not knowing what it was, and I'll be writing it forever yes forever just because it is the fic that never ends...

I feel the need to read it.

Well you shall, as soon as it releases me from its evil clutches :)

Agreed on all points (especially Greg's, there); write/post the Hermione/Luna regardless! Let not thyself be Jossed! (blither)
